Privacy Policy

Humidwise is run by Julien Fourel (contact@humidwise.com). This policy explains what we collect when you use humidwise.com, why, and your choices.

The short version

• No account, no ads, no tracking cookies.
• We count visits with a privacy-friendly tool that doesn’t use cookies and drops your IP address.
• We don’t sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

What we collect

1. Visit statistics. We use PostHog in cookieless mode to understand which pages help people. When a page loads, it sends: the page address, the page you came from, campaign tags in the address (such as utm_source), your browser and operating system and their versions, device type, screen and window size, browser language, time zone, time on page, and scroll depth. It also records clicks on store buttons: which store, and on which kind of page. It never records what you type, in the search or in the calculators. Visitors are counted with a hash of the IP address and browser that changes every day, so it can’t recognize you from one day to the next. The IP address is discarded right after. Data is relayed through p.humidwise.com and stored by PostHog in Germany (European Union) for one year, the retention of PostHog’s free plan. These records contain no IP address and no identifier that lasts more than a day.
2. Settings stored on your device. Light or dark mode, models in your comparison, the state you picked, your calculator answers, the boxes you tick in checklists, and your choice to turn statistics off are kept in your browser’s local storage so they follow you from page to page. They are never sent to us. You can delete them by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
3. Messages you send us. If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and keep them for up to three years. Email to humidwise.com is forwarded by Cloudflare’s email routing service to a Gmail inbox (Google).
4. Hosting. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which receives your IP address and technical request data to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. If Cloudflare flags a connection as suspicious, it may show a check and set a security cookie (cf_clearance). It is used only for security.

Who receives data

We don’t sell or share personal information, for money or otherwise, and we don’t use it for targeted advertising. Only our service providers process it on our behalf:

• PostHog (statistics), servers in Germany (European Union);
• Cloudflare (hosting and email forwarding), United States;
• Google (Gmail), United States, only if you email us.

Cloudflare and Google take part in the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Stores and affiliate networks

When you click a store button, you leave Humidwise. Third parties, including Amazon and the other stores and affiliate networks we link to (Awin, or a store’s own program), may serve content, collect information directly from you, and place or recognize cookies on your browser, including over time and across websites. Their privacy policies apply. Humidwise itself sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we don’t collect visit statistics at all. You can also turn statistics off on this browser at humidwise.com/?measure=off (and back on at humidwise.com/?measure=on).

Other sites collecting data over time

Other than the stores you choose to visit, no third party collects information about your activity on Humidwise over time or across other websites.

Children

Humidwise is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you (in practice, an email you sent us), or object to its use. Write to contact@humidwise.com; we reply within 30 days. We don’t discriminate against anyone who uses these rights. If you are in Switzerland, you can also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). If you are in the European Union, you can contact your local data protection authority.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update the effective date at the top and, for significant changes, add a notice on the home page for 30 days.
