What Humidwise is
Humidwise helps you compare dehumidifiers using public data (from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Energy, the Energy Information Administration, NOAA, and the Consumer Product Safety Commission) and manufacturers’ published specifications. We don’t test products, and we don’t sell anything. Purchases are made with the store you choose, under its terms.
General information, not professional advice
Our guides and tools give general information. They are not engineering, medical, legal, or financial advice. For installation, drainage, electrical work, or mold covering a large area, talk to a qualified professional.
Calculators are estimates
Size and cost calculators use published averages and the assumptions shown on each tool. Your actual results depend on your home, climate, settings, and use.
Safety and recalls
We show recalls published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, but our list may be incomplete or out of date. Before you rely on it, check your exact model number at cpsc.gov and with the manufacturer. If a product is recalled, follow the instructions of the CPSC and the manufacturer.
Prices and availability
Prices and stock are set by stores and change often. The price shown by the store when you buy is the one that counts.

Our text, calculations, design, and logo belong to us. You may quote a short excerpt with a link to the page. Our state study's figures (its table and CSV file) and the files in our data repository on GitHub (opens in a new tab) are licensed under CC BY 4.0: you may reuse them under its terms. Search engines, AI answer engines, and AI training crawlers are welcome where our robots.txt allows them. Any other copying of our pages needs our written permission.
Public data
Data from U.S. federal government sources is generally in the public domain; we don’t claim rights in it, only in how we organize and present it. ENERGY STAR® and the ENERGY STAR mark are registered trademarks owned by the U.S. EPA. Humidwise is not affiliated with or endorsed by the EPA.
Brands
Product and brand names belong to their owners. We use them only to identify products. The same goes for product images marked “Image from” a store: these terms give no rights in them. No manufacturer or store sponsors or endorses Humidwise.

We are not responsible for other websites, including stores.
Disclaimer
Humidwise is provided “as is”. We work to keep it accurate, but we don’t guarantee that every piece of information is complete, current, or error-free. If you spot an error, tell us at contact@humidwise.com.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, and our total liability is limited to USD 100. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your place of residence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Swiss law. Courts in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, have jurisdiction, unless the law of your place of residence gives you the right to go to your local courts.
