Our read
Who it suits
Rated 50 pints a day, the AZHDTL50P is sized for every space in the ENERGY STAR table, wet ones over 2,000 sq ft included. Mora lists a model with the same EPA figures, so compare prices.
Capacity suggested for each case, read Oct 5, 2026. ENERGY STAR adds that it’s better to oversize than undersize.
Running cost
Running cost won’t decide it
The DOE puts a portable’s average life at 11 years. Over that time, this model costs $12 more to run in the United States than the median 45–50 pint model. The thriftiest 45–50 pint model, the Aeocky LEO PRO-RCS50(Y)-N4-3(B)-25, would save $177 over those years.
The company that files it with the EPA lists the Mora MNDH50TP with the same capacity, energy use, and efficiency. Compare their prices and warranties before you choose.
Wi-Fi app
No app to watch it from upstairs
The EPA doesn’t list the AZHDTL50P as connected. Of the 156 certified 45–50 pint models, 14 are. In a crawl space you rarely open, a connected one saves the trip.
Ask for the pump lift and the lowest working temperature
Neither figure is in our sources for the AZHDTL50P. Without a floor drain below it, a pump has to lift the water to a sink. Basements run cool, and below 65°F, ENERGY STAR says frost can form on the coils.
At 526 kWh a year, it sits 6 kWh above the middle of its class.
Its refrigerant is R-32, flagged as lower GWP.Global warming potential 675.
Among the 156 certified 45–50 pint portables, 119 use less energy.
The federal floor for its class is 1.60 liters per kWh. It reaches 2.01, or 26% more. That floor covers portables rated over 25 and up to 50 pints a day, for units made since June 13, 2019.
Hisense’s next size down is the DH3526K1W, rated 35 pints. That one uses 163 kWh a year less.
Sold since November 2025. Among 45–50 pint models, 86 of 156 came out earlier.
Not on the EPA’s Most Efficient list, which names 8 of the 45–50 pint models.
The company that files it also files the Mora models with the EPA.
The Mora MNDH50TP is the closest size from another brand, rated 50 pints and 526 kWh a year. Both cost the same to run in the United States.

A day of nonstop drying means 49.89 pints of water, about 6.2 gallons, for some 11.7 kWh. At the average home electricity price in the United States, the AZHDTL50P costs $2.15 to run that day.
The EPA’s yearly estimate, 526 kWh, adds up to about 45 days like that. Each extra day at full output costs another $2.15.
Those 49.89 pints come from a DOE test at 65°F and 60% humidity. Cooler air at that humidity gives up less water, so expect fewer pints in a cold basement.
Every day at full output leaves 6.2 gallons to get rid of. Check how the AZHDTL50P drains, since our sources don’t say.
