Our read
Who it suits
Rated 50 pints a day, the TPFIT50AWK is sized for every space in the ENERGY STAR table, wet ones over 2,000 sq ft included. Its running cost is close to the median, so drainage, noise, and price matter more.
Capacity suggested for each case, read Oct 5, 2026. ENERGY STAR adds that it’s better to oversize than undersize.
Running cost
Running cost won’t decide it
The DOE puts a portable’s average life at 11 years. Over that time, this model costs $8 less to run in the United States than the median 45–50 pint model. The thriftiest 45–50 pint model, the Aeocky LEO PRO-RCS50(Y)-N4-3(B)-25, would save $157 over those years.
Of the 156 certified 45–50 pint models, only 14 have a Wi-Fi app, and the TPFIT50AWK is one. In a basement or crawl space you rarely visit, you read the humidity without going down.
Ask for the pump lift and the lowest working temperature
Neither figure is in our sources for the TPFIT50AWK. Without a floor drain below it, a pump has to lift the water to a sink. Basements run cool, and below 65°F, ENERGY STAR says frost can form on the coils.
Its 516 kWh a year is 4 kWh less than the median for its size.
Its refrigerant is R-32, flagged as lower GWP.Global warming potential 675.
Among the 156 certified 45–50 pint portables, 59 use less energy.
The federal floor for its class is 1.60 liters per kWh. It reaches 2.01, or 26% more. That floor covers portables rated over 25 and up to 50 pints a day, for units made since June 13, 2019.
The largest portable certified under the Honeywell name. Next down is the TPFIT32AWK, at 32 pints. That one uses 173 kWh a year less.
On the market since March 2026, newer than 77% of the 45–50 pint models on the list.
Not on the EPA’s Most Efficient list, which names 8 of the 45–50 pint models.
The company that files it also files the Quilo models with the EPA.
The TCL H50D44W is the closest size from another brand, rated 50 pints and 516 kWh a year. Both cost the same to run in the United States.

In 24 hours at full output, the TPFIT50AWK pulls about 6.2 gallons of water from the air and uses about 11.7 kWh. That day costs $2.14 in the United States.
About 44 such days make up the EPA’s yearly estimate of 516 kWh. If yours runs at full output more often, every extra day adds $2.14.
Its rating comes from a DOE test at 65°F and 60% humidity. In cooler air at that humidity, the TPFIT50AWK pulls out less than 49.66 pints a day.
Those 6.2 gallons need a way out: a hose to a drain, a pump, or a bucket you empty. Our sources don’t say which ones the TPFIT50AWK has.
