Run for a whole day at its rating, the Defender SP60R removes 24.43 pints, about 3.1 gallons, on roughly 6.3 kWh. In the United States, that’s $1.15.

Divide the EPA’s 285 kWh a year by one full day’s use, and you get roughly 45 days. Past that, each day at full output adds $1.15 to the bill.

The DOE test behind those 24.43 pints runs at 65°F and 60% humidity. At the same humidity, a cooler basement gets less water out of the Defender SP60R.
