Our read
Who it suits
Rated 24 pints a day, the TPFIT25AWK is sized for a damp space under 2,000 sq ft. It’s too small for a very damp or wet one. Its running cost is close to the median, so drainage, noise, and price matter more.
Capacity suggested for each case, read Oct 5, 2026. ENERGY STAR adds that it’s better to oversize than undersize.
Running cost
Running cost won’t decide it
The DOE puts a portable’s average life at 11 years. Over that time, this model costs $14 more to run in the United States than the median 19–28 pint model. The thriftiest 19–28 pint model, the Knka PD30MA-20, would save $123 over those years.
Of the 155 certified 19–28 pint models, only 10 have a Wi-Fi app, the TPFIT25AWK among them. You can change the setting from another room.

Ask for a noise figure
Our sources publish no noise level for the TPFIT25AWK. If it runs where you sleep or work, ask for a figure in dB(A), with the distance it was measured from.
At 291 kWh a year, it sits 7 kWh above the middle of its class.
Its refrigerant is R-32, flagged as lower GWP.Global warming potential 675.
Of the 155 certified 19–28 pint portables, 130 use less energy, and 8 use exactly as much.
At 1.75 liters per kWh, it clears the federal minimum for its class by 35%.The DOE sets 1.30 L/kWh for portables rated 25 pints a day or less. Every unit made since June 13, 2019, must meet it.
The smallest portable certified under the Honeywell name. Next up is the TPFIT32AWK, at 32 pints. That one uses 52 kWh a year more.
On the market since March 2026, newer than 62% of the 19–28 pint models on the list.
Not on the EPA’s Most Efficient list, which names 31 of the 19–28 pint models.
The company that files it also files the Quilo models with the EPA.
Another brand near this size: the hOmeLabs HME0088, at 24 pints and 291 kWh a year. Both cost the same to run in the United States.

in the United States
A day of nonstop drying means 24.48 pints of water, about 3.1 gallons, for some 6.6 kWh. At the average home electricity price in the United States, the TPFIT25AWK costs $1.21 to run that day.
The EPA’s yearly estimate, 291 kWh, adds up to about 44 days like that. Each extra day at full output costs another $1.21.
Those 24.48 pints come from a DOE test at 65°F and 60% humidity. Cooler air at that humidity gives up less water, so expect fewer pints in a cold basement.
Every day at full output leaves 3.1 gallons to get rid of. Check how the TPFIT25AWK drains, since our sources don’t say.
