Our read
Who it suits
At 50 pints a day, the YDA-150PM fits every space in the ENERGY STAR table, wet ones over 2,000 sq ft included. Its running cost is close to the median, so drainage, noise, and price matter more.
Capacity suggested for each case, read Oct 5, 2026. ENERGY STAR adds that it’s better to oversize than undersize.
Running cost
A middle-of-the-pack power bill
Next to the median 45–50 pint model, this one costs $4 more to run in the United States over 11 years. That’s how long the DOE expects a portable to last. The thriftiest 45–50 pint model, the Aeocky LEO PRO-RCS50(Y)-N4-3(B)-25, would save $169 over those years.
The EPA doesn’t list the YDA-150PM as connected. Of the 156 certified 45–50 pint models, 14 are. In a crawl space you rarely open, a connected one saves the trip.
Ask for the pump lift and the lowest working temperature
Pump and cold are the two blanks for the YDA-150PM in our sources. A pump matters when water can’t run down to a floor drain. Cold matters because below 65°F, ENERGY STAR says frost can form on the coils.
At 522 kWh a year, it sits 2 kWh above the middle of its class.
Its refrigerant is R-32, flagged as lower GWP.Global warming potential 675.
Of the 156 certified 45–50 pint portables, 90 use less energy, and 9 use exactly as much.
At 2.02 liters per kWh, it clears the federal minimum for its class by 26%.The DOE sets 1.60 L/kWh for portables rated over 25 and up to 50 pints a day. Every unit made since June 13, 2019, must meet it.
Waykar’s next size down is the JD026CE-150, rated 49 pints. That one uses 15 kWh a year less.
Sold since November 2025. Among 45–50 pint models, 76 of 156 came out earlier.
Not on the EPA’s Most Efficient list, which names 8 of the 45–50 pint models.
The company that files it also files the Fehom, Kesnos, and Yaufey models with the EPA.
Another brand near this size: the Yoau UDZ1-150P, at 50 pints and 475 kWh a year.In the United States, this one costs $9 a year more to run.

In 24 hours at full output, the YDA-150PM pulls about 6.3 gallons of water from the air and uses about 11.7 kWh. That day costs $2.14 in the United States.
About 45 such days make up the EPA’s yearly estimate of 522 kWh. If yours runs at full output more often, every extra day adds $2.14.
Its rating comes from a DOE test at 65°F and 60% humidity. In cooler air at that humidity, the YDA-150PM pulls out less than 50 pints a day.
Those 6.3 gallons need a way out: a hose to a drain, a pump, or a bucket you empty. Our sources don’t say which ones the YDA-150PM has.
