Our read

Who it suits

On the ENERGY STAR table, the AM150P suits every space, wet ones over 2,000 sq ft included. Its running cost is close to the median, so drainage, noise, and price matter more.

Running cost

Its power bill is close to the norm

A portable lasts 11 years on average, by the DOE’s count. In that time, this model costs $18 less to run in the United States than the median 45–50 pint model. The thriftiest 45–50 pint model, the Aeocky LEO PRO-RCS50(Y)-N4-3(B)-25, would save $147 over those years.

The EPA doesn’t list the AM150P as connected. Of the 156 certified 45–50 pint models, 14 are. In a crawl space you rarely open, a connected one saves the trip.

Ask for the pump lift and the lowest working temperature

Our sources don’t say whether the AM150P has a pump, or how cold it can run. With no drain lower than the unit, the pump lift must reach your sink. Under 65°F, ENERGY STAR says the coils can frost.

From the data

Where it stands

  • Its 511 kWh a year is 9 kWh less than the median for its size.
  • Its refrigerant is R-32, flagged as lower GWP.Global warming potential 675.
  • Ranks 42nd of 156 certified 45–50 pint portables for low energy use.
  • Its efficiency, 2.01 liters per kWh, is 26% above the federal minimum for its capacity class. The DOE sets 1.60 L/kWh for portables rated over 25 and up to 50 pints a day. Every unit made since June 13, 2019, must meet it.
  • On the market since May 2026, newer than 90% of the 45–50 pint models on the list.Certified in May 2026, one of the 97 models certified in the last six months.
  • Not on the EPA’s Most Efficient list, which names 8 of the 45–50 pint models.
  • The nearest size from another brand is the LG DT501BKR0, rated 50 pints and 524 kWh a year.In the United States, this one costs $2 a year less to run.

in the United States

Run for a whole day at its rating, the AM150P removes 49.8 pints, about 6.2 gallons, on roughly 11.7 kWh. In the United States, that’s $2.15.

Divide the EPA’s 511 kWh a year by one full day’s use, and you get roughly 44 days. Past that, each day at full output adds $2.15 to the bill.

The DOE test behind those 49.8 pints runs at 65°F and 60% humidity. At the same humidity, a cooler basement gets less water out of the AM150P.

Without a hose or a pump, someone has to carry out 6.2 gallons a day. Our sources don’t say whether the AM150P has a bucket, or how much it holds.
