Our read

Who it suits

On the ENERGY STAR table, the ADT35V1 suits a wet space under 2,000 sq ft, or a damp one over. Its running cost is close to the median, so drainage, noise, and price matter more.

Running cost

Its power bill is close to the norm

A portable lasts 11 years on average, by the DOE’s count. In that time, this model costs $10 less to run in the United States than the median 29–44 pint model. The thriftiest 29–44 pint model, the Deciuu LIBRA-RCS32(Y)-N4-3(B), would save $73 over those years.

The EPA doesn’t list the ADT35V1 as connected. Of the 87 certified 29–44 pint models, 8 are. In a crawl space you rarely open, a connected one saves the trip.

Our sources don’t say whether the ADT35V1 has a pump, or how cold it can run. With no drain lower than the unit, the pump lift must reach your sink. Under 65°F, ENERGY STAR says the coils can frost.

From the data

Where it stands

  • Its 369 kWh a year is 5 kWh less than the median for its size.
  • Its refrigerant is R-32, flagged as lower GWP.Global warming potential 675.
  • Among the 87 certified 29–44 pint portables, 36 use less energy.
  • The federal floor for its class is 1.60 liters per kWh. It reaches 2.01, or 26% more. That floor covers portables rated over 25 and up to 50 pints a day, for units made since June 13, 2019.
  • In the AUX lineup, the next size down is the ADT22V1, at 23 pints. The next size up is the ADT50V1, at 50 pints. The bigger one uses 135 kWh a year more.
  • On the market since July 2025, newer than 36% of the 29–44 pint models on the list.
  • Not on the EPA’s Most Efficient list, which names 1 of the 29–44 pint models.
  • The Garvee G-AD35PT is the closest size from another brand, rated 37 pints and 369 kWh a year. Both cost the same to run in the United States.

Our arithmetic

Cost

$1.59

in the United States

Run for a whole day at its rating, the ADT35V1 removes 36.9 pints, about 4.6 gallons, on roughly 8.7 kWh. In the United States, that’s $1.59.

Divide the EPA’s 369 kWh a year by one full day’s use, and you get roughly 42 days. Past that, each day at full output adds $1.59 to the bill.

The DOE test behind those 36.9 pints runs at 65°F and 60% humidity. At the same humidity, a cooler basement gets less water out of the ADT35V1.

Without a hose or a pump, someone has to carry out 4.6 gallons a day. Our sources don’t say whether the ADT35V1 has a bucket, or how much it holds.
