Our read

Who it suits

At 35 pints a day, the YDA-120 fits a wet space under 2,000 sq ft, or a damp one over. Its running cost is close to the median, so drainage, noise, and price matter more.

Running cost

A middle-of-the-pack power bill

Next to the median 29–44 pint model, this one costs $16 more to run in the United States over 11 years. That’s how long the DOE expects a portable to last. The thriftiest 29–44 pint model, the Deciuu LIBRA-RCS32(Y)-N4-3(B), would save $99 over those years.

The EPA doesn’t list the YDA-120 as connected. Of the 87 certified 29–44 pint models, 8 are. In a crawl space you rarely open, a connected one saves the trip.

Pump and cold are the two blanks for the YDA-120 in our sources. A pump matters when water can’t run down to a floor drain. Cold matters because below 65°F, ENERGY STAR says frost can form on the coils.

From the data

Where it stands

  • At 382 kWh a year, it sits 8 kWh above the middle of its class.
  • Its refrigerant is R-32, flagged as lower GWP.Global warming potential 675.
  • Among the 87 certified 29–44 pint portables, 63 use less energy.
  • The federal floor for its class is 1.60 liters per kWh. It reaches 2.02, or 26% more. That floor covers portables rated over 25 and up to 50 pints a day, for units made since June 13, 2019.
  • Waykar also makes it smaller, the CTH120A at 32 pints, and bigger, the JD025CE-120 at 36 pints. The bigger one uses 7 kWh a year less.
  • Sold since November 2025. Among 29–44 pint models, 49 of 87 came out earlier.
  • Not on the EPA’s Most Efficient list, which names 1 of the 29–44 pint models.
  • The company that files it also files the Fehom, Kesnos, and Yaufey models with the EPA.
  • The Yoau UDZ1-120P is the closest size from another brand, rated 35 pints and 340 kWh a year.In the United States, this one costs $8 a year more to run.

in the United States

Run for a whole day at its rating, the YDA-120 removes 35 pints, about 4.4 gallons, on roughly 8.2 kWh. In the United States, that’s $1.50.

Divide the EPA’s 382 kWh a year by one full day’s use, and you get roughly 47 days. Past that, each day at full output adds $1.50 to the bill.

The DOE test behind those 35 pints runs at 65°F and 60% humidity. At the same humidity, a cooler basement gets less water out of the YDA-120.

Without a hose or a pump, someone has to carry out 4.4 gallons a day. Our sources don’t say whether the YDA-120 has a bucket, or how much it holds.
